2005 – Abbey Fields barn
To coincide with national Archaeology Week, on 25th July 2005 English Heritage allowed the Kenilworth History and Archaeology Society to excavate a 2mtr by 1mtr trench directly in front of the Abbey Fields barn, which the society operate as a museum.
The wall of the barn is peppered with medieval musket ball indentations; it was fully expected that musket balls would be found……….
This report of the dig is taken from Kenilworth History 2005-6, published by the KHAS. Abbey Fields Barn dig 2005
